The english spells are a nice touch, I actually prefer them for some reason.
I thought they would bother me, but I

ParticipantWhen I played this game for the first time when I was nine or so I had to call one of those old 900 numbers that gave you hints and stuff for like 1.99 a minute so they would give me a list of what everything did.

InactiveShameless bump for tips in the Wei area which I’m stuck on.
I’m at the fortress thingy (the one with Cao Pi, Xiahou Dun and Cao Ren) and Cao Pi is a tough noggin.
I’ve tried using Zhou Yu (for An Sha) and Zhuge (for Ce Mian), and I’ve not able to crack his head open.
My lineup is Jiang Wei (with Chi Tu Ma), Ma Chao, Zhao Yun, Taishi Ci and Zhuge/Zhou Yu.

KeymasterHmm. Well for one, it’s impossible to An Sha Cao Pi (or Sun Quan, or Sima Yi). So the Ce Mian route is probably your best bet unless you want to An Sha the other two characters and hope you can defeat Cao Pi.

InactiveSo I guess have Zhuge as strategist, load power pills on Zhou/Jiang/Ma/Zhao/Taishi and just Ce Mian, Zeal (Bei Ji right?) and keep power pilling Cao Pi until hopefully he doesn’t heal himself?
Then rinse and repeat?
For some reason, if I do this, I usually run out of TP at the point when he heals himself, I usually cast Ce Mian early because I’m scared that he will An Sha my power hitters.

InactiveOh well, using Ce Mian + Bei Ji + Power Pills + Luck, got Cao Pi down.
When he was at like 5k, he attacked Zhao Yun instead of healing himself, phew.

KeymasterThat’s the tricky part with a lot of these mods – the increase in enemy ability and specifically Soldiers means that your TP is more apt to run out (since that doesn’t change from the original version).

ParticipantCao Pi is a nasty one in this version. Who are you casting Ce Mian with? Jiang Wei using Red Hare? That

ParticipantTrue that, I noticed the immunity to an sha in alot of the final boss fights, makes sense.

ParticipantDownload Destiny of an Emperor 2.0 v.1.00!
So I decided, this morning, that I wasn’t going to keep waiting to get back around to these Destiny of an Emperor projects. The longer I wait the more I’ll have to remember again when I pick it up, so I hope to crank them out in short order. First, here is what will become the first public release of Destiny of an Emperor 2.0. It features some last-minute corrections, some script error fixes, a few new scripts, some clarified explanations, a few final game balance tweaks, and some officer makeovers.
If anyone is interested in playing this version, that would be wonderful! I’m using it to create the official Tiger Wang and Kong Wen editions and, given the period of time I have been working on other things, it is possible that a few errors or suggestions may have slipped by me. I’m going to start working on the other editions now. Please point out any mistakes or final suggestions as you encounter them!
And that said, enjoy the game! :)

ParticipantThis mod is tough! Ouch! When my opponents combine douse and castle I’m dead.
If my memory serves me right, the castle tactic used to work everytime u cast it. But now it can fail?? Very much like DoaE2 I think.
So that applies for ji mian and ce mian??
I got thrashed by Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo at Luoyang. Pathetic.

KeymasterIt is much harder…you’ll have to either gain levels, or fight more efficiently (having Resurrects with, and updated equipment).
Cheng Nei / Castle can fail, but I do recall it working quite often.
Ji Mian and Ce Mian don’t fail though. Only in DoaE 2 that they can.

ParticipantOh whoops I forgot this was Destiny of an Emperor 1.
January 30, 2008 at 3:57 pm #27961Lu_Xun
ParticipantOh for awhile I thot Zhao gui has been incorporated in DoaE1.
So Lu Bu managed to defect for the gemsword. I was still wondering if I would get the premature ending like in the wei mod.
Now I can thrash my enemies with Lu Bu.. hopefully..
