ModeratorBe careful working with the hex, I accidentally deleted 1 entry (unknowingly) and saved over my copies without testing… lost a good hunk of rom and have been in the process of redoing a lot. I've wondered though, how can you change the names of certain items: ie the seal in this case or weapons, etc. Can that be done in the example:[Gemsword] boxes of the text editor?

Moderatorarrgh, figured it would be something like that. Ever since my data loss incident I've been leary about making hex changes :X

I probably need to set it up like you did with the Treaty though, making Yang Zhou impossible without the item; the story won't make sense if Yuan Shu doesn't get the seal. So I should make that battle un-beatable like your's against Liu Bei (though I vaguely remember cheating to beat that Liu Bei with Ye Huo's, but I can't remember for sure).

That's why I didn't add any characters for these switches – Steed to Powdr, Gemsword to ImplSeal. Just followed Niahak's orders as they were given huohu .
But sonic.penguin, you must have used the Hex a bit for changing the battles right? I recall you adding several spots for added generals in boss battles. I need to take a trip to James' site to get the battle codes so I can do that.

KeymasterNew pics with the new Lousang Village. By the way, maybe someone is more informed on early Yuan Shu / Yuan Feng and has a better village name. It'd be appreciated, otherwise I'll look into it since I probably won't keep it at LouSang.

ModeratorNice, I guess you'll have to change some region/chapters and some battles for your new Lou Sang. And I guess you'd have to move Xu Zhou close by.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see where you put it now. A place that nobody ever thinks about on the map.

Even those who have an idea, I'll probably eliminate the shore path that leads up and instead make a path northwest through the mountains (and maybe put the castle somewhere in there too).
Castles take up four squares, though only the bottom two squares allow you to 'enter' the warp. Wonder how that works in the hex but I'll just check out each spot once I get a minute.

Ie…there are like 4 addresses on each map tile if I remember correctly. Only one specific address warps.

Only one specific address warps.You're right. Each tile has four spaces with separate addresses. Castles have one warp space, villages like LouSang have 2 (since you can enter the village from either spot).
Successfully moved my Lousang and Xuzhou without any problems. Now, I need to re-name these spots.
Re-named Xu Zhou to Lu Yang. Evidently Lu Yang is where Yuan Shu established a base before the Dong Zhuo mission, which would work out well with the game since he joins right before that at "Lu Yang".
Didn't really know what to re-name Lou Sang too so I chose Hongnong – even though that's more of a castle than a village. But Yuan Feng was established as the Administrator of Hongnong so that's why I chose it.
Well I'm going to upload what I have so far. Destiny of an Emperor Yuan Shu rom.
Text and maps are done through Dong Zhuo. Probably will do some more map things with Yuan Shu's area (going to stay away from Dong Zhuo's since it's kind of risky to mess around Luo Yang).
Current thing I'm doing is moving the bar over to Yuan Shao's area, so it makes more sense with the story (you'll understand if you play)

ModeratorJust took a look at this one. Did you know that Chen Lan and Chen Ji have 255 STR and INT? Wowzers.
Am I allowed to use them or are they "beta" characters. I feel guilty using 2 guys with Lu Bu strength and Zhuge Liang smarts.
The map edits look great so far and your warps are working perfectly.

Keymasterlol, my bad. Yea, just had them so they can cruise through the first area and see what it's like. So I'll switch them back to a reasonable setting and re-upload it, I don't think it'll affect your experience too much so long as you replace them with other characters (they weren't that great to begin with).

Also just finished moving the bar over to Yuan Shao's area. Works great for the storyline (Well, wait, besides the fact that the dude at the bar will be in your party at that point lol) but also there is no snow-background village graphic, so it looks a bit out of place. Not sure what to do about that though I bet it played a part in you making Lou Sang a gate graphic in the Yuan Shao mod :)

Wow…with the walk through walls code I can actually talk to this bartender, although he just says that no one is there lol.

Temporary new bar location (probably will move it because it looks ugly in the snow with no snow-village graphic, and because Ji Ling will be in the party at this point).

But again the problem is Ji Ling won't even be there by the time I get there! lol. So I need to either move it back to the Yuan Shu NanYang area or earlier in Ji Zhou area (probably will take it out of the snow region what-with it being an eyesore in the snow).

KeymasterOkay, new bar – gate style. No other way around it, had to have it in this area but before we recruit Ji Ling (in the Zhao Yun spot).

Ended up dying while looking around (hit a gate accidentally) and then I was back in Lou Sang Village…but when I got on the world map, it was the old location (which was just Trees at this point). So I had to search 09 07 07 13 (the right-most entrance to Lou Sang) as that seems to be the warp spot if you die early on (before recording at Xu Zhou). So not many people would probably see this, unless you die in the Xu Zhou area before saving at Xu Zhou.
