Oh hey about Zho Fan…this is because a villager in Chang Sha says something like "Zho Fang in Guiyang cannot be trusted". So Niahak didn’t do it, it’s just like that.
Haha… good ol’ DoaE bugs. I think I saw that somewhere else though, and that’s strange as it should be using the index.

Yes, Yi Ji does have a lot to say! He’s talkative especially when you first meet him.
I’m usually a fan of that! It frees me from script worries and allows me to use some more creative words rather than simply trying to write out all I want while still using their indexed values. I wonder what pains they had to go through when they were originally writing the ROM…

I imagine the trouble in the Cao Cao edition is some kind of conflict with changes I have already made to the original ROM. The same thing happened with the officer editor when I used it on DoaE 2.0 back in the day. :)

For you the error is doing what it is supposed to do. It is nagging you for using up all of your characters and telling you to trim your script. In my ROM the scripts are duplicating themselves so I can get the message even if I haven’t even increased the script size by a single character. :)

Participanti see. that’s frustrating…

ModeratorHmm… yeah, again I didn’t test multiple loads in the same instance of DoaTed. I’ll clear that stuff out in the next version.
Right now it does leave the "garbage" intact. I can add auto-trimming of a line without any problems.
James, I tried that specific line (the Ma Liang/Ma Su one) in the standard DoaE rom and it didn’t have any trouble converting it. I’d really like to know what caused it so I can fix it.

Interesting… so perhaps the issue won’t take place if I close the program after each export? Or is the problem that I’m re-loading as I go along? It is my normal habit to re-load as I go along just to make sure things haven’t broken. I can just as easily close and re-open the program while that is looked into.

It would be pretty easy to clear out of my ROM. All you have to do is look for the instances of 0A (spaces) after the end character of a line (note that I use a few different end characters, such as the one that adds its own period). No legitimate follow-up script begins with a space (and besides, the index references point to the legitimate line beginnings).

I have a feeling this is going to be relative to some data in my own script. Maybe if you test on the Cao Cao version you might see something you understand?

ModeratorVersion 2 (0.02) has been released! Grab it from the front page.
This adds the second bank (which contains less lines, but more text). It has much, much more space than the first one, so it’s ideal for expansion.
How to find the 2nd bank
DoaTed currently doesn’t have any kind of indexing, so this may be a bit tricky. There is a line,
Han Zhong, a
general of the
Yellow Scarves[>]
rebels, knows the
mountain pass.
Maybe we can get[>]
him to join our
side.[END]Everything after this line is in the 2nd bank of the script.

Participant"Ha, ha, ha. I’m Yuan Shu. I’ll kill you this time."
Where on earth do these lines come from? Does anyone remember that?

KeymasterStrange, that line is actually in the database? They must have had other plans for LYS that did not materialize.

Definitely. Some of them made it into the game. Remember what we were talking about earlier? There is someone in Nanyang who says he/she thought they saw Yuan Shu sneaking around. And there was another script which seemed to suggest that you could find Yuan Shu and confront him. It is almost like you would have to fight him another time or two before finally doing away with him under Yuan Shao.
Yuan Shu is such a lovable rascal!

ParticipantHey, Niahak.
I’m looking at the ROM on a Windows computer and each newline character shows up as a box (in the left-hand side) but things show up normally on the right-hand side. Is that normal? The ROM seems to work properly. I can’t imagine it would have anything to do with the ROM’s actual data?
