Oh trust me, this alternate story along is worth playing through this game again. Yeah, you might have to replay half of it, but it’s still worth it.

ParticipantUpdate on duels for the Evil Path!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guide only contains duels with actual outcomes, and does not include once that have no effect other than story entertainment.

4. Battle of Baimen – Xiahou Yuan vs Song Xian
5. Guan Yu vs Yan Liang

Hey Lord Yuan Shu, how about adding updates to the front page of your site letting people know what’s been added? That way, they can keep track even if they don’t. Besides, if no one knows you’re updating, no one would read it.

ParticipantThanks for the duels list. I notice you have some of the names of battles which are different for mine, but most aren’t that big a deal. I’m guessing Rang Mountains is Ru Nan and Ye Valley is the level after Mt. Ding Jun?
Edit: I noticed that, in the last battle at Jianye, Sun Quan, Zhuge Liang, and the Nanman leaders all retreat instead of being killed. Sun Quan and Zhuge are in the ending, but what happened to the Nanman?
August 17, 2006 at 9:25 pm #20768Terranigma Freak
ParticipantThe Naman just retreat. Sima Yi begs Kongming to join Wei and rebuild the kingdom.

ParticipantSomething I’ve been wondering; I know most of the people in the game, but who is Xu Zijiang (the guy from the prologue who teaches you how to play)? I can’t find any info on him other than that he was Xu Jing’s brother.

ParticipantGoals for my next playthrough: Getting any special items, listing the enemies and allies for each map, and ways to finish a level without getting a lot of EXP.
August 18, 2006 at 10:28 pm #20772Terranigma Freak
ParticipantI don’t recall who’s Xu Zijiang in the novel, but I think it might actually be a misstranslation from someone. He’s Xu Shao in the novel. You know, the guy who said, "In peace you are an able subject; in chaos you are a crafty hero!"
Oh yeah, Taishi Chi, I forgot to mention, I don’t know the names of some of the areas, so I had to make a guess and give it the closest possible area based on the novel. It doesn’t matter about the names, you can change them to the ones you want. They are roughly the same area anyway.
A List of How to Get All the Special Treasures In the Evil Path!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ones that require you to lose someone can be cheated by letting the person die, then reload the game and keep them alive. This will count as getting the item in the treasure chart. Once you’ve filled up the treasure chart, you’ll be rewarded with being allowed to have every single treasure from the beginning of the game, and getting an extra by completing the requirements.
There are only 2 items you cannot get in the evil path. You must play the good path to get it.
1. Twin Blades – You must lose the Ding Jun battle to go to the next stage. Beat Liu Bei and you’ll get it.
2. Sword of Light – Let Xiahou En get killed by Zhao Yun (not like you have a choice), then you must defeat Zhao Yun and choose to spare the baby. You’re rewarded with Sword of Light for your kindness. If not, you’ll get a Silver Armor.
3. Ancestral Sword – Keep Sun Jian alive in the battle with Hua Xiong.
4. Serpent Halberd – Same condition as Twin Blades, except you gotta beat Zhang Fei.
5. Lu Bu’s Halbred – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
6. Lu Bu’s Bow – You can only get this during the 3rd battle for YanZhou. Forgive the merchant and you’ll get it as a reward, otherwise, you only get some money.
7. Li Guan’s Bow – You can get it by beating YanZhou in the first try. Or you can get it later from Chen Wu in one of the late Wu battles. The Wu battle is hard to miss since you have to defeat your enemies anyway. Unless you decide to kill everyone and ignore Chen Wu.
8. Shooting Star – Pang De must be killed by Zhou Can in a duel.
9. Twin Whips – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
10. Golden Catapult – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
11. Leaf Fan – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
12. Fire God’s Fan – Ye castle has 2 sections, an inner and outer section. When Xin Pi gets near the gates, he’ll cause a soldier insider to betray Shen Pi. When you’re in the outer section, keep one enemy soldier alive (and Xin Pi for that matter) before Xin Pi can reach the gate of the inner section. Once he’s there, it’ll open up, allowing you to kill Shen Pi.
13. Zhuge Liang’s Fan – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
14. Sword of the Seven Stars – You need to kill Feng Ji in battle of Liyang to get it.
15. Sage’s Sword – You can get either a Sage’s Sword or Golden armor depending on how you answer Emperor Xian. You can also get another one in battle of Hanzhong by having Cao Cao talk to Zhang Lu.
16. Mirror Armor – Kill Taishi Chi in battle of Hefei.
17. Golden Armor – You can get either a Sage’s Sword or Golden armor depending on how you answer Emperor Xian. You can also get one by killing Yuan Tan at battle of Nanpi (which is unavoidable anyway).
18. Chain Mail – Killing Xu Sheng in one of the later Wu battles and also beating the second YanZhou battle will also get you a Chain Mail.
19. Silver Armor – Accept Liu Bei’s offer to retreat and get it from Tao Qian. or if you managed to defeat Tao Qian, you’ll also get it. In Chang Ban, refuse to let Liu Shan go, and you’ll get a Silver Armor from Zhao Yun. Lastly, battle of Chen Du, kill Zhao Yun for another one.
20. Dragon Scale Armor – Kill Han Dang to get it.
21. Flying Dragon Robe – Listen to Dian Wei’s idea in the Yellow Turban battle. You can also get one by killing Hu Cheer in battle of Wan. Lastly, you can get one from Gan Ning in one of the later Wu battles.
22. Zhuge Liang’s Robe – Defeat Zhuge Liang at Bowang Po.
23. Dark Taoist Robe – Listen to either Xun Yu or Xun You will get you one of these. Kill someone (I forget) in battle of Han Zhong for another one.
24. Phoenix Robe – Dian Wei must die to get this item.
25. Silver Shield – Kill Wen Chou to get it.
26. Wind God’s Shield – Battle of Cangting, defeat Yuan Shao
27. Chariot Wheel – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
28. Yellow Lightning – In Ding Jun Mountain battle, have Xiahou Yuan duel with Huang Zhong to get it. Xiahou Yuan dies.
29. Grey Shadow – Death Li Ru in the Dong Zhou pursuit.
30. Di Lu – Same condition as Twin Blades and Serpent Halbred.
31. Iron Helmet – Pang De comes with one. Kill Wang Pu in battle of Fancheng. I THINK killing Liu Shan in Chen Du will also get you another, but I don’t remember 100%.
32. Zhuge Liang’s Hat – Battle of Han Rive, don’t retreat. Defeat all enemies to win it.
33. Featherless Arrow – Kill Zang Ba to get it.
34. Sun Tze’s Art of War – In battle of Hefei, kill Zhang Hong.
35. Blue Pouch Book – In Battle of The Red Cliff, kill, Huang Gai.
36. Way of Peace – Kill Zhang Liang in the prologue to get it.
37. Heaven’s Manuel – Guo Jia must die in other to get this item.
38. Six Arts of War – Kill Mi Fan in Chang Ban
39. Three Ploys – Kill Mi Zhu in Chang Ban
40. Bean Bag – Kill Yan Liang.
41. Imperial Seal – Defeat all enemies in Ding Jun Mountain battle.
42. Green Dragon Jade – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
43. Red Phoenix Jade – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
44. Dark Warrior Jade – No requirements, you can’t miss it.
45. White Tiger Jade – No requirements, you can’t miss it.

ParticipantXu Shao, eh? That does make more sense.
Thanks for the list, I’ll try and get all of these now. I will challenge the idea that you can only get Lu Bu’s bow at Yanzhou though, I picked it up somewhere without having the scene with the merchant.
Also, in this run, I’ll be saving Dian Wei, but I’ll let Guo Jia die so I can make a walkthrough for the Escape from Chi Bi level (or I guess I could just use a seperate file or something).
August 19, 2006 at 3:00 pm #20774Terranigma Freak
ParticipantYou should compare my list carefully since it appears I’ve forgotten to list a few items. I know Black Dragon and Red Hare were left out on purpose since you can’t get them, but the game has 50 items, and my list has only 45 items. I know I forgot to put in Sword of Heaven, but there are still 2 more I forgot about.
As for Lu Bu’s bow, by all means, tell me where you can get another one. Maybe there is another way to get it.
August 19, 2006 at 3:50 pm #20775Taishi Ci
ParticipantI know I had it before Wan Castle the first time. Maybe Xu Huang drops it? Not sure.
August 19, 2006 at 3:55 pm #20776Terranigma Freak
ParticipantI’ve beaten Xu Huang plenty of times, and he never drops it. It’s not in his inventory to begin with. Besides, by the time you get to Wan, you SHOULD have the bow by then. The same is true when you fight Xu Huang.
August 19, 2006 at 4:00 pm #20777Taishi Ci
ParticipantI guess Lu Bu drops it if you don’t trigger the merchant closing the gate. I’ll have to check on my next playthrough.
August 19, 2006 at 4:04 pm #20778Terranigma Freak
ParticipantI doubt it. Perhaps you got Li Guan’s Bow? But then you’d have to beat Yanzhou on the first try in order to get it. If you beat Yanzhou in the third battle, you get Lu Bu’s bow. Personally, I wouldn’t skip out on the third Yanzhou battle for Li Guan’s bow, especially in evil route. You get 2 chances for the bow in evil route. Li Guan’s bow is only good against tacticans, while Lu Bu’s bow is good against all units. Although it would be helpful to be able to to silence Jia Xu in the Wan battle.
