Are you (or anybody) ready to do your first ROM debug with a debugger? You could use FCE Ultra to watch the memory to see which memory area is "counting down" then we could use the debugger to figure out how the original value got loaded.

Moderatoractually, have tried this and have seen the values changing like crazy, but I'm mad i can't get my picture (2 posts above) to be in the right colors when I upload it into TLP since Feidian doesnt work on my cpu…

ModeratorI just checked it, you need to decrease the color depth to 4 colors. The one you have posted is 256 colors. You also need to resize down to 48×48. And set each color to the right DoaE color values.

ModeratorI have done that, i was just pasting my original to see if you could do it. I reduced color to 4 but the problem is that TLP reverses the colors. It does that with the pictures that ATMA posted as well.
I seem to have all kinds of issues haha

ModeratorOK I haven't tried to use TLP since I first started playing with modding DoaE. Atma can probably help.

ModeratorThat's odd; my pictures worked fine for me. Clearly your computer is possessed by Dick Cheney. 8O
Seriously, though, TLP is sometimes a bit finicky; I do know that it copies the file's palette order directly (instead of searching for the nearest color); therefore, DoaE requires that the palette be (in this order) black, pinkish, reddish, and white*. The pictures I upload have the proper palette, though…
* Or, for generics, green. Or purple. Or blue. Or gray. Or the color out of space. Or red. Or…

I got them to work and will post the strange colors I had to use in a bit. TLP always crashes though for some reason…

ModeratorTLP…pfff… I didn't have the patience for TLP. It's like trying to move a stack of hay with tweezers.

Also, these are the colors that worked, ironically…
