ModeratorQuote:Just need to know what I have to change stuff to and maybe I could look into this. I don't want to error out DOAEditor with wrong names?The files in the tablesCategories directory just list the tile numbers. I think you can add categories and put the tile numbers in additional files. I was thinking a Water-Noshore and Water-Shore category might be useful.
Quote:This is not how they appear in the hex though, they more or less are grouped by…and…for some reason cant find where these are unless James changed them in the 2.0 version.I think James did tweek those a bit since he and Meteorstrike had already talked about it. I think I remember it being tweeked in his mod.
As for the location, the low byte values are stored in the first array then the high byte values in the following array. For example the values for Da Re are at 0x3BB9F and 0x3BBBE.
As for healing tactics, the two arrays start at 0x3BC27
Tactic ID = Tactic Name = Type of Tactic = Healing Potential.
11 = Chi Xin = Recovery = 0064 = 100
12 = Tong Xian = Recovery = 01F4 = 500
13 = Yin Xian = Recovery = 03E8 = 1000
14 = Jin Xian = Recovery = 1194 = 4500
15 = Wan Fu = Recovery = FFFF = 65535
Array 1 starts at 0x3BC27, array 2 starts at 0x3BC2C.

ModeratorThanks for looking.
Just found Bei Ji and AnSha values.
Bei Ji (double attack) 0A cost @ 3BBF4
AnSha (Super hack – save state abusing – kill anything tactic) 0A Cost @ 3BBF4

ModeratorQuote:Nice work man. Makes sense that Shui Lei at best is marginally stronger, to the point where you could hardly tell the difference. You should also post this in a more relevant thread (maybe it's own thread). Or I could do it too.I was thinking of starting a very large ROM Hacking post/thread which contains everything people need to know about modding DoaE. That way all the info is in one place. I'll probably start on that this week.

ModeratorShouldn't AnSha be at like a cost of like 15 or 20 TP? I mean, Bei Ji @ 10 to wail on guys for a few minutes, or insta-death at the same cost? Maybe it should be like 25 TP q.q
Quote:I was thinking a Water-Noshore and Water-Shore category might be useful.There is only 1 tile that has no shore and I know that one is currently like the 15th one down on the "water" category in the 3rd column. All the rest have a small piece of shore.

ModeratorBut if it's 25 TP and it doesn't work that's a giant waste. I think it was lower because it misses a lot. Although we *can* change how effective An Sha is. Ie…how often it works.

ModeratorQuote:Out of curiosity, did we ever find a way to change the levels tactics are learned? Or are they limited to the default levels?I know you can change the INT level needed to learn a tactic. I did this in the Yuan Shao mod but now forgot how to do it. I think levels are also stored somewhere. Would take some more digging.

Ie…how often it works.I think 90% of people save state hack anyways to get it work <cough> lord yuan shu <cough) hehehe. Anyways, I think rate is good, but 15 TP seems more reasonable since I upped the TP pot. Also, lowering Bei Ji to 5 to make it easier to avoid the Bei Ji whole party, enemy Jie Ce's you and now battle is over since youre out of TP scenario.

ModeratorWe might be able to lower the impact if Jie Rou. Would take some digging though. Ie…instead of it cutting damage by half perhaps it could cut damage by 25%.

ModeratorYou mean Ji Rou, Jie Ce cancels any buffs.
I always found Jin Xian to be useless end game since it heals only 4500 when your guys have 10x the hp of that since usually 1 guy gets ansha'ed and the rest of them have full hp anyways. So it heals a total of 22500 which is still less HP than Wan Fu (full hp) which is learned earlier. Maybe that would just imbalance things…

ModeratorJust checked the tactic damage ranges and they are exactly the same as the original, but they seem to do more damage? I think what was changed in DOAE 2.0 was the damage multiplier formulas for tactics, IE: probably the intelligence multiplier.

I think in DoaE 2.0 and in your mod there are more generals with higher STR and INT which is causing the tactics to hit harder.

ModeratorHey Atma, I imported the pics you uploaded into TLP and it changed all the colors. What do I have to do in TLP to get it to NOT do that for a pic such as the one below. -__- All the colors are essentially reversed!
