ModeratorQuote:maybe my hex editor doesnt have this? you mean open table? Or can i load the DOAE table into the already opened game file I am editing? i've been trying to figure this out the past few days and I think I'm botching something really simple eheheSome hex editors don't have this feature but you should still be able to change the "00 00" at 0x2FCA8 to some price tag. I assume you're planning on max price which would be "00 00" but if it's not max price let me know what it is and I can give you the code.

ModeratorI already got it, I made a clean price of FA 00, which turned out to be 250 lol, so I forgot I had to switch it to make if 00 FA which makes it 64,000. If I change the zones ie: Wei which is 88 to Wu values of 77, wouldnt that also change the officers present in the zone in addition to exp gains and gold values? Is there any way to edit those gain values without affecting the zone encounters?
Also, what is the algorithm that makes a weapon attack twice, IE a bow. was thinking about making the weaker special weapons attack twice ie: Bo Ye and Wan Sheng to make them more or less useful.
Also, should I change Zhang Jue to Zhang Jiao?

ModeratorMaking an update… should be about 5 min. Make sure to patch your game (especially if you're in Shu)

Is there any way to edit those gain values without affecting the zone encounters? It's actually not "77" or "88". It is "7" and "8". What's really nice about Niahak's new version is that you can use the mini-map to plan out your chapters. Each region has 1 number assigned to it (0-8). See this post for more info: http://www.lordyuanshu.com/forums/topic/how-to-move-castles-change-graphics-etc-in-doae1/page/4
Yes, the chapter number *does* affect the amount of gold and experience you get and also what kind of random encounters you get. There are two things that control gold and experience the most:
1. The chapter number you are in.
or
2. The number of soldiers you are fighting.
I tried to look at other variables on this page: http://www.lordyuanshu.com/forums/topic/how-to-move-castles-change-graphics-etc-in-doae1/page/3
Mainly soldier counts are driving how much gold/experience you get within each chapter. If you were to change the amount of gold/experience you get besides chapters and number of soldiers it would affect EVERY battle and would require some additional debugging to figure out.

Would require some debugging but I'd rather figure out the portrait stuff first. This would be fun though. You could have "katanas" which would be another 2 hit weapon. Or maybe if we went crazy, the crossbow could hit every enemy.

I'm sure it would follow the same logic as a multi-hit tactic

ModeratorOnly a minor update, change Mulu Dousi to Mulu Dawang to make it more correct.

KeymasterJust beat Cao Pi at Ru Nan.
I'll post some pictures soon, when I beat it :P
But, the game broke at one spot. Where you put the Water Spirit (which was a nice addition by the way) and the Pirates…after I beat that battle and got the automatic level-up, the game crashed.

Update your game, it should be safe to overwrite

ModeratorSaw this again on the first page:
Quote:See the post that starts with "I've looked over the level up formulas…"The old man in JiZhou also pleases to give you 3-4 levels bonus ( not just one in the original )
I would guess that you do this by repeating the level up event in the text but I haven't tested it.
I tested this and it messes up the game, trying to repeat the event. He must've done something special to it.

ModeratorIndeed; Mulu and Duosi were two different people.

KeymasterKing Duosi and King Mulu, remember them both from Dynasty Warriors 3.
Still haven't gotten to beating the game. Was busy on the boat today. Anyway, more pics.

Mulu Dousi!

Wu Tu Gu!

Cool portrait bro.

Are the characters with him randomized? I swear I recruited Ding Feng before this.

This was easy…

Unexpected.
…

Nice touch with Yuan Shu with the Emperor sprite. To be honest, what-with it being Lu Bu's Rise, I figured Yuan Shu might be with him. But it makes sense considering he could have stayed with Liu Bei early on too. Interesting since the other Lu Bu mod had him starting out and going with Dong Zhuo / Yuan Shu's army, this one allying with Liu Bei's.
Well, good work dude. It was challenging, but also coherent and interesting enough to make it worth doing.

ModeratorGlad you liked it!
It would have been better had you kept it updated though as I eliminated a lot of bugs and typos (change Mulu Dousi to Mulu Dawang)
added more unique characters/portraits (Shamoke and Zhou Tai!)
not sure if the version you had was with the improved Wu maze,
upped crit. chance and attack chance,
Made the battle with the Wu Water Spirit unglitched.
Made the last battle more difficult
Made bosses beefier (ie Sun Ce w/ Scorch? Pff, now we has Inferno and Behead)
Added more generic npcish mini-boss characters
Maybe you could <cough> play through it one more time once I finish cleaning up this Beta… :D

ModeratorDid you load all those portraits bit by bit with Tile Maker Pro? I really like some of those.

ModeratorQuote:Are the characters with him randomized? I swear I recruited Ding Feng before this.Might have, but I actually added officers to the battle to make it more or less interesting. I mean, you fight Lu Xun and Taishi Ci before this, then a harder battle is supposed to be Sun Quan solo? Come on. Maybe you had to restart after that glitch? So I added people to make the battle more worthy of the groovy music change.

ModeratorQuote:Did you load all those portraits bit by bit with Tile Maker Pro? I really like some of those. No, maybe I should try out tile layer though since Feidian doesn't like my DOS… <sniffs>
Actually I spent a few hours creating from the stock pics. I was going for more or less the most believable portraits that weren't too botched from backgrounds. I still like them better than DOAE 2 portraits which I mostly* just find too cartoony.
This is what I wish Niahaks editor to be able to do. That you can drag and drop a picture into a box, have the UI slice it into 6 pieces, and then have it imported into the game via the UI. Maybe I'll wish upon a star or something…
