My choose , of course, is FFIX .
DoaE gave birth to Huo Hu.

October 26, 2008 at 11:29 pm #36129NiahakModeratorWhat, no FF12? Not that I would vote for it or anything…
I’m really torn here. FF6 is fantastic, but I really enjoy FF7 as well. FF4 would be in the running, but given that I just played through the DS remake and the final area is mind-bogglingly tedious when it’s not too busy being outrageously unfair, I don’t see myself voting for it.
Gonna go FF6.
October 27, 2008 at 3:45 pm #36130Xian Zhu XuandeParticipantYeah, it is a tough choice for me between FF IV, FF VI and FF VII. IV doesn’t quite have the same personality and variety that VI does, though, and VII, while very very cool, hasn’t held the same replay value for me that VI did.
October 27, 2008 at 10:10 pm #36131Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterFF5 is at the top for me. To me, I favor the SNES generation to the rest, then the PSX, then the PS2 generation. Thus I tend to think of FFIV – FFV – FFVI as the top three. Picking between them is like splitting hairs… but FFV provides much more gameplay customization than FFIV, and even though it has a weak story compared to the two I think FFV also is the more challenging one of the three. Not to mention the optional fights at the end that are great. It really comes down to the first play through of FFV back when the translation was first released in the late 90’s. I didn’t really understand why the game didn’t make it here, and was probably just learning that FF2 / FF3 were really FF4 / FF6. The game had a nice charm to it, and I absolutely loved the pace to it. Also the replay value is tremendous, with the ability to change classes and play an entirely different game the next time.
I forgot to add Final Fantasy 12 at first, but I did now…. No FFXI since there really aren’t any MMORPG gamers here and the omissions for FF2 and FF3 are because I assume no one would pick them either. But if they are your favorite by all means you can say so.

I really liked XII but I don’t think I liked it better than IX or X. FFIX was the first one I ever played and the one I keep coming back to so I think it wins.
April 7, 2009 at 6:48 pm #36133Xian Zhu XuandeParticipantTimbuki, you’ve never played the older ones? You’re really missing out!
April 7, 2009 at 6:51 pm #36134TimbukiParticipantI have played the older ones but I still keep coming back to 9 and 10. I beat 1 on the GBA and I’ve beat VI and VII as well. I’ve played all of them but still haven’t made it through 2, 3, 4, 5, or 8….I will someday though

June 25, 2009 at 7:37 am #36140UltraCraig64ParticipantFF4 for this guy. That means I'm super stoked to download and play that newfangled FF4: the After Chronicles. It recently came out for WiiWare, although I think it gets released in chapters. Hopefully that doesn't equate to a hefty price for the combined game.
What!? Zhuge Liang controls even the heavens?
June 25, 2009 at 7:39 am #36141Lord Yuan ShuKeymastermy friend got FF4 the After. From the little I've heard, it sounds good and true to the old classic.
I think the 3 or 4 episodes will add up to like 28$-32$ total probably.I'd suggest it, then you could come on here and report on it since I certainly don't plan on getting a Wiiwii just for that.
