ParticipantAll I really want to know is the stat set for Lu Meng, Zhou Yu, and perhaps Taishi Ci. I imagine each one has no more than like 180 strength and 175 intelligence, but what do I know?

ParticipantI absolutely ABUSED this feature. I gave all my "tiger" generals (anyone with or over 210 attack power in my book, which Jiang Wei is at the threshhold of) as many as 5 treatises for as much as a 100 increase in intelligence. I only gave 5 slots at most to a general so that the last slot could hold the gauntlet, and only if there was extra room did I give a Speedshoe (like to the Godly Zhao Yun who only needed 3 treatises to max it out). Thus, using a final party of Jiang Wei, Guan Suo, Ma Dai, Zhao Yun and Huang Zhong, I had a team that all had 255 intelligence, leading to utter ownage of opposition. I also took just about every opportunity to duplicate weapons and armor, so I was always loaded with lots of money and always had each character with the best weapons and armor at any given time. I just wanted to add that I’m not ashamed for doing this (it felt so right), and I wish DOAE 1 had a item duplication trick. Ah, ULTIMATE HAPPINESS!!

ParticipantSpeaking of Japanese DOAE versions, anyone know if there were any cool differences from DOAE 1 US and Jap? Besides the Super Rebel Forces. I was looking the other day when I started going a second time through DOAE 1 in my goodset collection for an English translated Jap version, but to my dismay, no such thing :(. As for Chi Tu Ma in DOAE 1, the only thing that made him seem hard was the rocks, but all it means is when you do the directions, you don’t do them in the exact order that Lu Bu tells you, but you still do the exact amount of spaces and it works for me every time. High five!

ParticipantI am happy to say that loading a save state from right before finishing the battle does indeed work. I have a save state where all I have left is one outlaw army, and after the 120 tries in a row I have done so far (I really counted each try), I have received 6 Power Pills and a Fortune Shield (yes, a FORTUNE SHIELD!!). I received the Fortune Shield on only my 23rd try, so that was cool. I wonder how many more times I’ll have to try before I get the Li Guang Bow, but on the plus side it’s kind of fun seeing what random drops I can get. On a smaller note, I got a Nu Long sword the first time fighting the one-on-one battle with Zhang Ren, then a silver nugget from the same battle on the third try. Then, the really cool thing was getting a Heaven sword from the Hao Zhao port battle, since you normally don’t get it till after the Cao Cao battle at Luo Yang in a chest. Anyway, like I said before, saving mid battle still nets you different drops, and thank God for that.

ParticipantThat quote is pretty top shelf IMO. Except in my case I always chuckle a little when I see it because it sounds like something you’d say after getting the Happy Ending at your local Asian massage parlor. Er, just going on a hunch there.

ParticipantIt’s nice to be here, thanks man. I already feel the DOAE love haha. That’s reassuring to know the bow is there, I just wonder what the odds are of finding one of those and the Qing Gang. Hopefully it’s not much more than like 1 in 50, or I might just be spending the rest of Winter Break hunting down those mothers. I’ll post here when I get them and let you guys know how many times it took for each, in case anyone was curious. It’s all because I DARE 2 CARE.

ParticipantI’m on my second time through DOAE’s 1 and 2, and for 2 I’m in the process of trying to get the ultimate weapons. I have my game saved right before the ambush at Shangfang Valley after killing Cao Cao, since I read that you can supposedly get the Li Guang bow there. For me this is paramount, as I am a huge Huang Zhong fan in DOAE 2 (bows are Godly). I have currently fought that battle 15 times and have yet to receive anything, let alone the elusive Li Guang bow. It looks like no one else has posted a topic asking about getting the best weapons, and I just can’t believe it, I would have thought this to be a hot topic of discussion. Can anyone shed light on getting the Li Guang bow or Zeng Zong saber for me? As for the Qi Gang sword, I really hope I don’t have to fight the Cao Pi battle dozens of times to get it. With level 50 characters and all of them having 255 intelligence due to duplication of the treatise, I don’t actually need any help finishing the game. Matter of fact, I even plan to get to level 99 this time (first game I stopped at 67). However, I am obsessive about doing EVERYTHING in the RPG’s I play, and maxing out all the stats is just the bee’s knees haha. Well, besides agility anyway. I decided to take max intelligence instead of boosts in the far less useful stat of agility. People have hacked this game, so didn’t they perhaps use their hacking programs to find the exact location of items? If anything, someone please tell me how to cheat the game to get any weapon I want (I have no background in hacking or hex editing and just want the easiest way). Hopefully this info helps the one or two other people out there who are as crazy with this stuff as I am.
