Ouch. I just realized that the enemy troop counts are going to get to over 10,000 soon, and my Tiger/Tiger sons are all under 2,000. It looks like I may finally have to upgrade my armor soon. I finished the Zhou You battle with only one An Sha against a general (Guan Xing felt the sting- oops, that rhymed!), and only a Hong Shui or two from the other decent tactician, Kan Ze. This actually worked out pretty luckily for me, since in my last DOAE playthrough, Zhou Yu literally Hong Shui’ed my guys every turn (I was rather high leveled for the time, though I hadn’t learned Ce Mian yet to stop the rapage). Actually, since I hadn’t played the game in a few years, I kind of thought he was supposed to Hong Shui your guys often; this playthrough showed it’s actually quite random, as Yi Xin was the star here. I was also extremely fortunate for Zhou Yu to attack one of my guys rather than Wan Fu himself when he was reduced down to around 500 soldiers. As with most battles, I abused Bei Ji and Ji Rhou (before Bei Ji, Fu Bing worked surprisingly well when I could actually get it pulled off). Oh, and I seriously bought many smokepots, even gullwinging a few times for special smokepot shopping sprees- so far, that was the main expense of my game, and kind of a fun little challenge.
By the way, Xian Zhu Xuande- are you by any chance the lord of Kongming.net? I have gone to that site for DOAE1 and 2 related things, it’s rather good. Also, under Biographies, I remember seeing Liu Bei with (Xuande) listed next to his name. Perchance, is Liu Bei a more simplified Chinese name for Xian Zu Xuande?

Well, well. Has it really been that long since someone attempted this? I just won the battle against Zhou You, and have over 60,000 gold, largely due to the fact that I’ve been extremely frugal with weaponry. In fact, all my characters still have the padded armor and hood helmet for a total of 85 defense, the same as they have for nearly the whole game. Thanks to resurrects and Ji Rhou (increases defense), they’ve been able to hold out well. As for weapons, I only used the weapons you pick up- I have yet to purchase them in a shop. I even managed to evade the final fight with Lu Bu by using smoke pots throughout the entire Jingzhou area (I spent a few thousand on them, admittedly :(). Overall, it hasn’t been that hard so far, and I haven’t had to restart many battles. I didn’t even get Pang Tong, and I haven’t and don’t plan to use any power pills, nor have I fought any random encounters besides the one to get Han Zong to attack the Yellow Turbans from behind the castle (like 7 exp., shouldn’t affect the final party level). If anything, doing this challenge has forced me to play around with more tactics, as well as shown me how well I can play the game. However, I fear the final section of Wei. The Sima Yi battles may be a real nightmare. I’ll post more if something else big occurs, and I can’t wait to beat it so I can be listed among the few elite on Kongming.net to actually do such a crazy thing.

Well, well, well. Is that the R4 DS Adaptor? I should be getting one pretty soon. It allows you to play any emulator game pre-playstation and n64 on the DS. At least that’s the impression I’m under. I can’t wait to play rpg’s on the can, oh man! By the way, I’m actually being serious haha. I can’t think of a better place or time to power level.

I religiously use Gamefaqs, and Lordyuanshu happened to have the latest and best FAQ for DOAE2. A while later, when I was talking about how awesome the two DOAE games were on an NES forum called PlayTheNes, I met CCG, who told me that LordYuanShu had a wonderful forum. This was in April of 2007. Finally, in late December, I was getting REALLY into DOAE2 again, and was desperate to get those utimate weapons, so I joined the forum to get help. Now I feel like just another regular.

After beating 1 and 2 again in the past two weeks, I was thinking of trying a mod for 2. However, people have made so many. I guess this would be the one to try? I want one that seems as different from the game as possible, so it really feels like a new DOAE2 experience. Also, does this mod or any other ones allow me easier access to those accursed Ultimate Weapons? I love it when after putting in all this time into a game, I can get maximum ownage out of it :D.

Considering I had the moxy to forsake my god and now pray to and worship Huo Hu, I don’t think doing such things will be a problem. As Huo Hu is my witness! Though come to think of it, I have experienced a few "plagues," I’m told they’re called. But that’s probably completely unrelated. Also, hi guy! If you bring the peanut butter, I can bring the jam, and together we can make a funky, tasty swirl! Don’t be afraid, I swear it’s not as weird as it sounds…

I haven’t played it yet, but CCG sent me a few songs and they were pretty rawkin’. What I love about the music is that much like me, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. I could definitely picture it adding a lighthearted element of AWESOME to the game. Perhaps one day in the next 3 or 4 years I’ll give it a try (procrastinationnnnnnnnnnnnnn).

I love my ranking, yet somehow I completely forget Yuan Shang, despite the fact that I just beat the Yuan brothers in DOAE1 in the last week. I assume he was in DOAE1, but I dunnnnnooooooo. BTW, why are Song Ren/Song Yong really high ranking? Is it because of how lovable they were in being the two worst generals in the game? Well, I’m convinced. That’s kinda like the two asshats who escort Liu Bei’s army for a really short time in DOAE2, only these guys don’t work for the enemy and run off afterwards. No, Song Ren and Song Yong will stay with you as long as you can stand to keep them, like the unconditionally loving puppy. Yeah, it’s exactly like that.

I like to think of myself as the new talent. The kind that does his little dance on the catwalk, does his little turn on the catwalk… Then after the blackout, I wake up in strange men’s beds. It’s ok though, cuz the post quality is OVER NINE THOUSAND!!! And that cancels out the manwhoring part.

Seeing as how my guy Fallout has the starting armor and the Pink Leo, I would say he used those Pro Action Replay codes he linked to in my DOAE 2 Ultimate Weapons thread here. That is definitely awesome, but please man, tell me how I can do it too. I have no clue how to use Pro Action replay codes for VirtuaNES, the emulator I generally use, and I was playing around for a good while. Oh, and by the way, what does the Pink Leotard do? +20 sexiness? It’ll be our secret.

Just so everyone knows, the first black man in a Final Fantasy game, Barret, got screwed with the race deal. They made him a lame, "hip and streetwise" black stereotype akin to Shaft that also happens to use a gun arm. Last I checked, rugged, hardedge, ghetto speaking, "bad mamma jamma" black men with guns seems pretty racist to me, kinda like those 1970’s Blaxploitation films. Then again, let it be known that 7 is my least favorite FF from 1-9, so I might have a slight bias here as far as things that piss me off about it. FF4 is best! Cloud Strife is definitely no Cecil Harvey. :D
