ModeratorCool, I noticed that it is working more friendly now especially with inserting some pics into the posts FLEXX
One thing I wanted to know if whether or not you could add the “login” at the top of the page as well. Every time I want to login I have to scroll to the bottom of the page. At the top it just seems more convenient since that is where every link takes you.
On another note, any way you can make one of these ‘blank’ tabs next to the smilies an ‘insert video’ link tab?
On a second note, what about incorporating a WYSIWYG Mod where everything you type doesn’t have to look all bbcode’ish? Just a thought.
On a fourth… third note, what about some alignment buttons? Left, Center, Right?

ModeratorI’ve got it, I’ll make DoaEditor play nice with the lud’s DP thing.
Which… makes much more sense. The thing was that, at the time all this new awesome code was created, was that there wasn’t really any testing involved. It was all just sort of thrown in there with minor/individual testing. I don’t think IPS 1.3 and the previous DOAEditor would have worked in a million years without all this bug fixin’

ModeratorDoes Base AC affect enemy officers? Since they don’t have a level to draw from how can it?

ModeratorNo bug here. The problem with the DP is specific to the Cao Cao mod. Looks like James put in values for DP that are not in the dptable.tbl. Solution is to either change all officers that are “unknown” to some value in the table, save it, close the ROM, and re-open it or change dptable.tbl. I’d recommend just changing the officers that have unknown values.
The DP table is not pulled from the ROM, its static and only references what the default game values are. The actual DP values have been changed in the ROM, this is what I wanted to change but like I said, the DP table is all over the place it seems and the values that James made them are pretty insane.

ModeratorI’m not sure because I never tested it with those value officers.
Also, I paged Niahak trying to locate the DP tables that DOAEditor pulls from because they’re all messed up in the Cao Cao Mod. I’m getting DP values of 200+ when I click on 60 DP for example, so I’ve gotta fix those because it’s really messing up trying to edit this thing. The DP tables seemed to be located in multiple places though
Also, how the heck did you get your signature to look like that? Every time I attempt to insert links it erases the html >_>

ModeratorThe LDR, VIT, POL, and Profile ID will now write to all hex values for that officer. For example it would be A6, A7, and A8 for Liu Bei.
Cool. I had the list of other officers that does it for here:

ModeratorErr, I don’t think so, sorry. But I do know that even in the Yuan Shao mod I had issues with the first guy in the formation using heal on my guys and attacking himself/his own allies.

ModeratorModified the front of this thread to provide more information to visitors and potential modders:
The most recent beta version is available here. Please test it and let me know what bears fixin’!If anyone wants to help maintain the code, or in the event of a loss of interest or unfortunate accident on my part, the code for Destiny of an Editor is freely available at the following SVN:
http://www.dev.niahak.org/DoaEditor/
The only restriction I have is that you must not laugh at my awful code organization. This was built compromise upon compromise over the course of four years.
What is “DOAEditor” you say?
Well to put it plainly, DOAEditor is a hex editing tool that uses a point, click, and type functionality to modify many of the functions in Destiny of an Emperor without having to go into detail about ‘hexing’ everything in. It was created by Niahak @ niahak.org and has currently been modified to incorporate more features by MiDKnighT here at the lordyuanshu.com/forums website. This tool has come a LONG way since its original incarnations but has made hacking Destiny of an Emperor by far much more simple to the average person.
Quite impressive!

ModeratorSomething along the lines of:
“Once an officer
is taken out of
billeting[>]
his weapons will
have to be
equipped.[END]Or maybe even
Don’t forget to
rearm your army[>]
after adding
them to your
party.[END]Was checking out the front of this thread a moment ago… WOW were there a lot of bugs found!

ModeratorBut until that’s done we can use this image as a reference.
Yeah I know, but I needed something as I’m working so much with sprites currently that it’s a major pain in the butt to pick the wrong fitting sprite and having to keep on changing it for 200+ characters
sonic.penguin
ModeratorThe cool part is that later on I can expand on this code and automatically have it equip the best items in their pack (that they can use) when they join :thumleft:
Ah, the old ‘Optimize’ function from RPG’s, that’s an idea! Pretty soon you’re gonna be getting elemntal defense and accessories right? Cool, I’ll try the code out here and let you know if anything breaks… knowing our current string of luck there’s bound to be something, but we might get lucky this time :P
Edit: Tried it and it seems to work very smoothly. I like also that I don’t have to click through a menu that says “so and so was de-equipped”. Might have to add a sprite somewhere though that explains to new players they’re gonna have to re-equip a weapon after billeting….
Actually, I just had an idea. Is there a way to ‘add’ a sprite to the billeting shop, like some guy who stands in the corner pawning off the new advances like Huo Hu doles out powder? It’d be fine if he was in every shop since they’re universal, no biggie, but something like that would be cool.
