ModeratorLet's give Du Yu the blue helmet. The grey helmet is somewhat….. colorless. *rimshot*
DragonAtma
ModeratorThen you should substitute a warrior pic or something! Nothing says you can't branch out to other games…
DragonAtma
Moderator…is that my imagination, or does Du Yu look like an edit of Sima Yi?
And I get the feeling Ding Feng is an edit of someone as well, but…
EDIT: Yes, that is DEFINITELY Sima Yi. For Du Yu you really should go with an officer pic, not an advisor pic.
DragonAtma
ModeratorZhang Ti was the last Wu prime minister; he turned down an offer to surrender and was killed in battle. When that happened, Sun Hao panicked and surrendered.

ModeratorOld shubies, hmm?
In 247, Zong Yu was promoted to Colonel of the Garrison Cavalry. At that time, Deng Zhi, the General of the Chariots and Cavalry, paid Zong Yu a visit and condescendingly asked why a man of over 60 years old would accept a new military command. Zong Yu retorted "Sir, being seventy already, you still have not relinquished your command. Why can’t I, being but sixty, accept one?" Zong Yu is noted as being the only person who stood up to Deng Zhi.

ModeratorThey estimate at KMA that Deng Ai's birth was in 197…. which would make him fifteen years younger than Sun Quan (182).
Sima Yi, meanwhile, was born in 179, so he's three years older than sun quan and eighteen older than Deng Ai.
You're probably sick of Sima Yi after this many mods…. but if you aren't, then he'd likely be a better choice for two faces than Deng Ai. After all, Sun Quan died only a year after Sima Yi, so really-old Deng Ai won't come into play unless you either extend past Sun Quan or fudge the ages.

ModeratorYes; highlights for black beards should be mostly off-red (or 4th color, if the palette permits). Or at least post the lossless green-blue versions (as you did for Cao Pi) so I can edit them as needed.
DragonAtma
ModeratorYou should work on Cao Ren's beard — just as I worked on Cao Pi's beard.
DragonAtma
ModeratorTrue, the latest version is bmp, but most of the pics you posted were jpgs >_>
And if purple or red works for the beard (the novel claims sun quan has green eyes and a purple beard), good! If not, use the red/yellow that I did in columns 2 and 3. NES games have a limited palette, so people understand the red/yellow beardcoloring, just as they understand the pinkeye (yelloweye?) epidemic! XD
DragonAtma
ModeratorAha!

The first row is the off-color version; the second is the actual color.
The first pic in each row is your version; the other four are my variants.
And you should never ever ever use jpg for this sort of thing. It's like asking Jia Xu to try and Duel Lu Bu. :tear:
Finally, Lu Bu looks best with no facial hair, as it's not part of his public perception; how is he supposed to terrify people if they only see a moustache and not him?
DragonAtma
ModeratorLu Bu isn't normally shown with a beard.
As for Cao Pi's beard highlights, I meant the off-red that all palettes have. I'd show you what I mean, but you insist on putting in fake anti-aliasing. :(

ModeratorOn me winning if my Jin Xuan mod goes up? I have successfully propelled a nobody to fame!
On me winning if someone else's Jin Xuan mod go up? Not only have I successfully propelled a nobody to fame, but someone else did all the work!
On Cao Pi's highlights being darkened? Face palettes are black/red[ish]/yellow[ish]/VARIES; the highlights on Cao Pi's beard are yellow[ish], but should be changed to red[ish]…. or possibly gray if it looks better.
DragonAtma
ModeratorIf the Jin Xuan mod goes up? I WIN!
If someone else puts up a Jin Xuan mod? I STILL WIN!
Also, you should consider darkening some of Cao Pi's beard highlights.
DragonAtma
ModeratorYeah, but the new standard means that 2012 jin xuan mod is very unlikely. At the very minimum, I'll have to completely redo the map AND produce a whole bunch of new officer faces.
And it's aaaaalll Peng's fault! :Þ

ModeratorHappy ottoma– turkey day!
