Out of curiosity, did anyone find a way to increase the number of weapons and armor (and helmets)? I seem to remember someone mentioning it somewhere, but I don’t see it mentioned on the wikidot guide.

* 6 BurntTown (one city only)Obviously some people may want to make them look different (e.g. they’re the emperor of Palamecia and they want to burn down half the map), but for most people this should be fine.
…I should add that 5_town.txt takes horrendously long to select (510 tiles in one file is way too much); I split mine into six files (0-99, 100-199, 200-255, second 0-99, second 100-199, second 200-255) for sorting, and that worked much better.

I really need to finish optimizing the tilesets; sorry for not doing so yet.
EDIT: I’ve been taking far too long, so today (November 5, 2022) I’ll force myself to finish the optimized orders one way or another.

DragonAtmaModeratorUgh; it’s close to a decade old and it shows, especially since you wandered into areas that were never completed (and, therefore, half modded and half original).
Sticking with a more modern mod is a much better idea. >_>
DragonAtmaModeratorIt’s an error in programming; IIRC if the slot 7 officer learns a tactic, it checks if the slot 8 officer learns one…. except there isn’t a slot 8, so it fiddles with something it really shouldn’t (chest/hidden item data, I think).
DragonAtmaModeratorIndeed; since I’m redoing the map I have to redo most tiles on most screens, and that takes a long time if I have to drag everything. It would be a lot easier drawing them on when identical tiles are next to each other, and I definitely have those planned out (as does vanilla — just look at the example above!)
EDIT: I should add that I’ve been making progress on preparing tilesets; they also help speed things up.

DragonAtmaModeratorDon’t worry; as I posed above, it’s not hard to find and change regions; the main issue is that I have to redraw every region by hand (all 64 tiles), and there are a LOT of regions. That’s why I’ve been redoing tile lists to make more sense:
The other issue was a breakthrough in rotk2 modding, so I’m heavily distracted by that. :(

I know that city names are 7FC90-7FDE2 and FFC90-FFDE2 while pointers are 7FC21-7FC4F and FFC21-FFC4F, but changing them breaks DoaEd, so there must be references elsewhere.
Unfortunately, “Just use the same lengths as the vanilla game!” is not an option. :/

DragonAtmaModeratorI have the 9/17/2018 version of DoaEd (it’s the latest one I could find), and there’s an issue: pickable map tiles for non-overworld regions are screwed up. Sure, half of them are fine, but the rest look like Picasso used too much of Huo Hu’s powder.
I did some work on fixing them — for most tree tiles, put https://www.mediafire.com/file/mezb9m7l4dt1jzp/5_Atma_GreenTree.txt/file and https://www.mediafire.com/file/1smqvace584sblt/5_Atma_RedTree.txt/file in DoaEd/tables/Categories — but it will take some time to fix everything (unless there’s a newer version I don’t know about!).
