Don’t suck Apple into this…
They don’t go around destroying the hopes and dreams of children.
Well, to be fair, they do tend to destroy their own dreams more thjan other peoples’ dreams (see http://satirewire.com/news/0111/microsoft_settlement.shtml). But Trip "Mephistopheles" Hawkins *DID* work for Apple before creating EA, and there are definitely times I feel like poking Apple in the i…

You know, you probably should have each general’s page show the data byte associated with their hex number — that’d make battle editing easier, especially for alternate force edits where you move a whole bunch of people around.
For the time being, all the information is here.
It is a good idea, though! :)

If anyone cares, the Jin Xuan mod has a whopping 58 officers replaced by new (e.g. Kong Rong) or moved (e.g. Jin Xuan) generals.

ModeratorUnfortunately, I have no quick fixes. For making the pictures, I use MS Paint. For putting it in the rom, I use TLP and put them in pixel by pixel. Yes, it’s slow, but we have no choice…
And in the background, I use Chara Mucker ’99 (a tile editor made for RPG Maker programs) with that oh-so-useful grid activated (set to 8×8 pixels, of course) that matches the tiles oin TLP.

ModeratorHey, I did some work on it! I added two new officer pictures — all that remains is adding one picture for a generic officer and updating the pictures for three unique officers.

Xu Zhu and Zhang Fei assure you that having better pictures is a definite plus!
DragonAtma
ModeratorThey soooooo need to update it more often. They may have rules against updating it, but screw the rules, I have Lu Bu! >_>
DragonAtma
ModeratorI probably should apologize for the lack of updates. I’m sorry! Atma has a lot to deal with in life!
But don’t worry — the mod is not dead. Chained to the wall, perhaps, but not dead.

ModeratorHappy belated birthday to you two.

ModeratorI considered adding a joke option, but I feared that everyone would pick it. :(

Atma only plays the real versions, not the remakes! [except when the real version is japanese-only]

ModeratorAaaand Zeromus becomes the Drain Sword’s final victim. He never even got Cecil below 64xx/90xx HP! It was funny watching his Meteo miss almost every time.
With three exceptions (Kainazzo, Valvalis, and the @^$#$@#*^@&^ing TrapDoors), FF2 was noticably easier with solo Cecil in the back row.
And no, I didn’t bother to get most of the final equipment.

ModeratorAegis Shield didn’t stop Disrupt, unfortunately. It did, however, weaken attacks form some other monsters.
And thanks to the Drain Sword, I had no trouble, except for a few monsters (such as TrapDoors and Molbols). When enemies smack me for 1 damage and I smack them to absorb 500 HP, those floors aren’t a threat! XD
Unfortunately, even though I saw Yang, I didn’t return to see Yang’s Wife until after I blew up the giant. And Asura healed herself fast enough that battle against her were useless wastes of time (unless she eventually runs out of HP).

ModeratorIIRC I was level 78 by the time I reached it, so I had no problem. It’s like the battle with TrapDoors, except he had more HP but needed several turns to unleash his deadly Crush attack.
Something like half the TrapDoors required a reset (due to not getting two attacks in before the fatal Disrupt), but that "boss" died on my first attempt.
DragonAtma
ModeratorLevel 73 was when I had enough agility to hit trapdoors twice pre-disrupt, and thus it was the level I took them out. EvilWall was easy by then! Now I have Cecil, Edge, the Qiao sisters, and Zhang Zhao’s grandfather. Time to go deal with the Giant of Bab-il!
