if you type in into the address search such as 390BD into a hex editor that you have downloaded ( I found XVI to work the best) you will be taken to a close address. you will then need to search the code for a pattern that you are looking for. Like MidKnight mentioned earlier, 40 41 68 59 5B are all references to specific things being sold. ie: 40 stands for dagger.

is there something special about the section of map above xu zhou? Whenever I edit that area it never saves the map. I thought it was different because it inserts the cave there in the back but it doesn't seem to save map sections there at least for me.
I did a big edit in the YT area and i remember maps werent matching up somehow

After trying out the map function extensively I agree w/ Midknight, it would be a lot easier to have a grayed out area so you can match up stuff that needs-a-matching like paths/rivers and areas you are trying to block out w/ impassible and/or make passable.
lol, continue on, i just changed some dialogue of townspeople around chang an and some other villages + added the mace for sale in XuZhou, but you can buy that in Chang An so your life was just a little harder than other peoples might be :)
