ModeratorAll this new stuff (and fragments of stuff) is making it hard to test the game cohesively >_>
Good stuff though and good ideas. All the new weapons and such might need some DOAEditor fix where you can modify weapon AP/armor AC via the editor. Its a pain in the behind to do it manually.

ModeratorAs cool as the setup and tactics are and equipping Game FAQ's :P, I think the version w/ stats underneath the character is just cleaner looking.
There is going to need to be an ingame tutorial on all the new stats and what they do though.

ModeratorSo it looks like I'm going to have to replace quite a few things since I have to apply 1.3 patch1 before applying the 1.3patch2 otherwise things go weird. Will just have to redo the customized tactics, names, etc.
Upon applying the patch, the characters have very miniscule AC b/c it's based off of the leveling code….
Wait a sec, armor needs to be fixed in some cases or perhaps it is just the issue I a have b/c I used the armor alternates. It is possible to experience an overflow on the AC depending on equipment and thus reduce your AC back to 0 and it starts counting again.
Also, at 34, my AC bars are longer than at 190 AC.
I just applied the data above lud and my text doesn't change. Was that all of it or did I miss something in a previous post?Edit: Indeed it was. Got it fixed now. Although the blue/white combo can be a little tricky to get used to. What address is the ppu editable for the blue/white mixture?

ModeratorApplied the IPS patch. Try talking on the world map and it makes the party not use animation sprites and keeps the menus on the screen.
Also, the IPS patch doesn't apply those new spiffy icons. It should.

ModeratorQuote:This is working nicely so far! This should make equipment swapping less annoying. Would appreciate if you and sonic could give it a try to see if you are happy with it. If so, I'll add it to the IPS patch. So far it works nicely and is definitely a lot less annoying than before. Kudo's.
Now to get the icons working…

ModeratorQuote:not sure what just happened, but just as i leveled up and learned chaos, i think i reached more than 255 TP and after the level up i have 5 TP points :( , this sucks because now i cant finish it and i was so close >:(Who did you have in your party that allowed you to learn Chaos? You shouldn't have had anyone w/ that intelligence level unless you are working off of the first version or unless you modified the INT of some officer

ModeratorFor some battles you might not be able to focus on tactics. Instead, focus on a more STR based party w/ higher troops and Carnage your way to victory :P

ModeratorQuote:I don't know if i had the update or not…so…When was the last time you updated the mod? I had made a correction which fixed an issue w/ steeds. Do you have any? They give you 2x attack. You should try and break the person out of jail, not that it will do much good now but meh. It will need to be done to get into the Wei castle up north.
Quote:except for the dragon not much to to….can't get Wei's weapon shop either so…..feels hopeless….Will have to check into this. Never thought anyone would go beat that thing before taking most of the game.

ModeratorOr maybe agility could actually affect hit/miss ratio instead of just turn order and hit amount? (although could really unbalance things)
Quote:Then you could have all kinds of interesting formulas and combinations for things like:Physical attack power = STR + AP (weapon) + Soldiers (maybe LDR factored in too)
Tactic attack power = INT + Soldiers (maybe LDR factored in too)
Physical defense = VIT + STR + AC (armor)
Tactic defense = VIT + INT + AC (armor)
Negate success, etc… LDR+INT (1st party member) vs 1st enemy's LDR+INT
Duel success.. Mainly the dueler's STR but also factor in the party leader's LDR+STR
Retreat success.. Party leader's LDR+AGI vs 1st enemy's LDR+AGI
Recruiting success… Party leader's LDR vs recruitee's LDR (higher LDR for enemy = harder to recruit)
To make it easier on the modder, if LDR or VIT is not explicitly set for an officer it is derived. Maybe LDR defaults to something like INT/2 + STR/4 + AGI/4 and VIT defaults to STR/3 + INT/3 + AGI/3.
I like the idea :)
The battle icons you made Lud are awesome. I always hated how the abbreviations for Mail and Helmet seemed to cheapen things. When I first played this game, I actually was confused about what each was and didn't realize I could equip a shield and helmet (back in the 90's)

I'm waiting to apply the IPS patch as you guys seem to be hammering out a few issues atm.

This will have to be looked into. Who actually learned it that you had in your party?
