ModeratorDon't worry — I'm sure LYS will download a copy of the entire forum to his hard drive as a backup before risking the mass deleter.
DragonAtma
ModeratorNow, now — I mainly just quote from Monty Python.
Or did until spambots started multiplying so much I ran out. >_>
DragonAtma
ModeratorAha! I was wondering whether someone noticed or not!
DragonAtma
ModeratorThen do stuff that doesn't need net?
(Also you should send me the officer list sometime; I'll let you know if I think you missed anyone important, plus I can suggest what I think stats should be).
Also, if it's doable, you can get a 16 GB flash drive for under $15, then use that to transfer stuff worked on at home to your current computer and upload from there.

ModeratorI've noticed spam posts disappear, then return a month or four later; that may be part of the problem.
Unfortunately, you'd have to consult the list of posters to make sure every single spampost is gone — unless you'd rather check through every topic to see if a spam post revived in the middle of (say) the DoaE hacking guide's 60+ pages.

ModeratorBuilding up the number of valid tags will do nothing about the number of spambot posts. If the approval method is done properly, then vetoing a spam user is no more effort than deleting a spam post — and there are spambosts with DOZENS of spamposts.
tianbxfi has 23 posts.
Kolenyqx has 22.
dianbllb has 13.
Kolejxpx has 22.
timrwghc has 14.
Koleywkv has 28.
Koleaiqp has 29.
coolsuau has 23.
jakebrdh has 19.
tiantszz has 15.
And those post counts are from ONE PAGE — specifically, page 20 of "untitled rotk2 remake".
LYS, you really need to talk to bbpress about the impending spamageddon — and if that doesn't work, you need to move the site to another message board service before more posts are spam than not!

ModeratorWe keep getting spam posts; something really should be done about it, like requiring mod approval for new poster signups (and, of course, notifying mods if they check in and someone new hasn't been approved/denied yet).
DragonAtma
ModeratorAha! Then I missed that. Thank you!
DragonAtma
ModeratorOh, I should point out that although most of these are optional (but range from useful to awesome), #1 (bridge movement) and #8 (water tactics anywhere) WILL be necessary for the Jin Xuan mod.
#4 (multi-chapter officers) and #6 (mix-and-match generics) are also highly recommended. The longer chapters need some splitting (imagine bumping into vanilla DoaE's 15,000-soldier Taishi Ci or 12,000-soldier Lu Xun in your first Wu fight!), and surely I'm not the only one sick of seeing YET ANOTHER rebel force!
DragonAtma
Moderator(9) We've always used six slots for portraits thanks to generics….
…but now that we have room for 340 portraits (despite only having 256 officers!), we can give every single officer a unique portrait, even a jiu-drinking souse (stingy oafs…). As such, that'll open up five new slots for data for every officer in the game, and we can put aaaaaanything we want there, from their birthday to their favorite pony.

ModeratorDeleted spam seems to return form time to time; I did report one of them with a note that the thread's spam-infested.
They really need to PERNMANENTLY delete spam insetad of hiding it for a month.
EDIT: This thread has some spam in it too. Blargo!

ModeratorAny chance that you had a header and the patch was designed for a headerless (or vice-versa)?
