ModeratorTo be fair, Zhang Fei's a lot better at combat than the family.
Especially since Zhang Fei was in charge of a major city at the time and, therefore, had the city's guards to call upon.
DragonAtma
ModeratorWell, it's refering to 1-on-1 fighting, not army-leading — and to be fair, that would be the lowest stat for what I call the Mastermind archetype (Cao Cao, Zhuge Liang, Zhou Yu, Sima Yi, Oda Nobunaga, Napoleon Bonaparte…)
And yes, England is a silly place. In 2011 they had multiple riots, but the most popular video from the same day was this:

ModeratorQuote:How dare you compare that magnificent ball of charisma Cao Bao to that street rat Cao Cao :retard:Well, in RoTk8 they gave Cao Cao 68 war and gave Cao Bao 69 war. People were so startled that France had mass riots, Greece's economy nosedived, Somalia's government collapsed — again — and in england, someone knocked over a garbage can!

ModeratorTardar sauce, not Tartar sauce.
It's a minor, one-letter difference, just like Cao Cao vs Cao Bao. 8O
EDIT: For those who ask "Who's Cao Bao?", I was introduced to the three kingdoms era by RoTK2. The highest stat officer there was force leader Cao Cao (int/war/charm 95/91/95, equivalent to DoaE 242/232/242), and the lowest-stat officer was Tao Qian's officer Cao Bao (13/19/15, equivalent to DoaE 33/48/38).
…naturally, that made Cao Bao a cult hero on Gamefaqs' RoTK2 board. For the record, his stats in later RoTKs are around 36/69/28 (equivalent to DoaE 92/176/71). Not Zhang Fei stats, but not Song Yong stats either!

Moderator"NO." — Grumpycat.
But seriously, they do look somewhat similar.
Now, to find Eyebrow Cat's doppelganger…

ModeratorNo using Erdrick's stuff, obviously! XD
Maso will be as unequipped as the day she woke up in King Lorik's throne room with total amnesia!
DragonAtma
ModeratorThe general rules of the challenge:
* No buying equipment
* No using the ring/scale
And, of course, there are also the standard Maso rules (no savestates, no cheating*, etc.).
* Exceptions are made in rare cases; FFL3, for example, revives everyone after every battle, so codes are used to perma-petrify everyone but Maso.
DragonAtma
ModeratorHurt was definitely useful, Hurtmore willl also be useful.
But it'll still require grinding for MP, as if Maso runs out of MP before finishing [insert dungeon here]….
DragonAtma
ModeratorIt must have been a mix of wandering around in Charlock and wandering around the Haukness-Cantlin area. Back then I didn't have the patience to stay in one area and definitely didn't have the patience to fight the same enemy 500 times in a row!
I also have a Maso's Adventures (basically, DW1 with no equipment, ring, or scale) of DW1 that's in hibernation… it's currently level 9. Don't expect Maso to be fighting in Charlock much!
DragonAtma
ModeratorThat's okay; I have a DW1 file where the hero's level 30.
That takes 65535 exp; even the HIGHEST exp monsters (metal slimes) give only 115 exp, so it takes a LOT of grinding — especially since you're usually level 18-21 when you beat the game.
Then again, after lots and lots of grinding, I finally beat FFL3 solo; I was level 83 (!) when I did so, and normally you're level 32 when you fight the final boss. Sheesh!
DragonAtma
ModeratorWell, the problem is not when there are only two characters in the name, but when there are names with the exact same characters (two or otherwise). Just ask President John Adams and President John Adams!
First format would probably be better, except different people doing addons may have the same (general0) part. Sooo…
My suggestion is to use the first format, but have the filename affect the internal ID. Then, (general0) of base.txt and (general0) of atmagenerals.txt would wind up with different IDs. My suggestion would be to load the files alphabetically (starting with base.txt if available), increasing the general counter as needed. For example, suppose we have this:
atmagenerals.txt:
(general0)
name=Zao Zhi
(general1)
name=Xu Dan
base.txt:
(general0)
name=Taishi Ci
(general1)
name=Cao Bao
gemfire.txt
(general0)
name=Erin Blanche
(general1)
name=Loryn Divas
Then we'd have this:
general0 = Taishi Ci
general1 = Cao Bao
general2 = Zao Zhi
general3 = Xu Dan
general4 = Erin Blanche
general5 = Loryn Divas
As a bonus, it'd let people enable/disable specific groups of officers when deciding who goes in a new game.

ALL GORDON'S FAULT!
…seriously though, it's good to see that the spam has been vanquished. Someone should go remove all the spam tags scattered across Conewalker, though….
DragonAtma
ModeratorMost likely it's from spamposts being deleted (or sent elsewhere) and the number-of-pages not being updated.
Naturally, longer threads have (well, had) more "increase your AP for $199.99!" spam!

ModeratorLYS, here are two possible quotes:
Cristo cast Defeat on [boss]! But nothing happened!
Taloon trips! Suddenly a weapon critically hits [boss]!
Which would be worse?
As for the mages, Brey, Nara and Mara have low HP and flimsy armor, so they risk getting one-shotted by an unequipped Song Yong. Nara and Cristo's MP is needed for healing, plus Cristo loves to spam worthless spells. In the meantime, Ragnar, Alena, and Taloon act completely sensibly — they attack the enemy, using items intelligently (e.g. Sword of Thunder vs groups), Hero is controlled by me and provides in-battle healing as needed, and Cristo and Nara heal in between battles. All I have to do is make sure one of my AI allies doesn't accidentally wind up with an herb! XD
Of course, if you like baldness, feel free to make the party Brey/Cristo/Nara/Mara…
