ModeratorUsing full names would look so corny on the screen ie; Motochik would cut off and look odd, especially in menus. Thus, the Moto Chika and Masa Mune idea seems best.

ModeratorIve learned how to insert pics and sprites. Can we have sprites read from roms so I dont have to go in game to see the new ones?

ModeratorWell Nobunaga is one word, but is Oda (clan) and name (Nobunaga) So there are lots of Oda's but only one Nobunaga. Ieyasu fits the lines as does Hanzo. Wish DOAE could fit 8 letters per line… But other ones like
Mitsuhide -> Mitsu Hide
Yukimura -> Yuki Mura
Mitsunari -> Mitsu Nari
Tadakatsu -> Tada Katsu
Mototada -> Moto Tada
Yasumasa -> Yasu Masa
Hideyoshi -> Hide Yoshi
Sound good?

ModeratorAh thanks for info on the sprites. Now, to test that "life" thing, wouldnt that be REALLY annoying if they keep reviving their 50,000 troop guys over and over? I would think it would make spamming Ce Mian a necessity even more

Need a little help on this one since DOAE editor does not allow direct lookup of sprites atm, what hex address would I find for say Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, and Guan Yu aka what sort of order does the hex follow sprite wise. Also, Im just assuming, that I would replace the Liu Bei sprite hex with another one form LYS list o'sprites, but what function do I need to pick its colors/weapons like it does in the DOAEditor.
NOTE: I have already figured out the feidian issues and have already uploaded new portraits/sprites into the expanded rom. Midknights version of php works**

In the agility based attacks Ludmeister, what does the —- mean? should that section be skipped starting at 3a1d6?

ModeratorOKAY! Finished the yuan shao mod… a few thoughts…
1. Even for the last battles gate battles and castles, I just went all out without even buffing my guys, I mean, they were hitting me with Lian Huo for petes sake lol.
2. The 2nd to final battle I did the same thing as above.
3. The final battle was annoying simply because of the low damage done and they kept using Wan Fu, but didn't feel like I would actually have a major set back unless they got a lucky AnSha in.
4. Final death line was funny… swings his swords lol.
5. Maybe a little more on the dialogue changes? Even with all the portraits changes and color changes it felt pretty simliar to the original in terms of story, just a different character.
6. Somehow there has got to be an increased damage output by both sides or something to make it more "surprise" invoking. It kind of makes the game drag………………. if I'm just sitting there turn after turn waiting for something to happen on both sides.
IE: some guy uses rally and does a 10,000ish hit on someone. I think Guo Jia was hitting 36 on my 25,0000 hp guys, it was laughable lol.
7. I can tell this mod is dated due to the MASSIVE amounts of new things we can do with mods since about a month ago, hopefully you can pump out something with some more 'bite' to it with the Gongsun Zan mod coming up.
8. Some of the ideas from this mod were inspirational enough where I modified my own mod. Definately a good look into the pioneering of modern DOAE modding techniques, now to perfect it…

ModeratorJust going through the intro until I finish up the Yuan Shao mod but… I was expecting something like "Are the father of the mighty benevolent unstoppable yuan shu?" and the guy spits out "are you Yuan Shu's dad?" lol, cracked me up!
Don't forget on officer names you can only fit 7 characters per line. Cheng Y uan Zhi is goofed up.
You have some text that needs a little fixing, particularly they keep switching between yellow scarves and yellow turbans.
I mentioned this on MidKnights mod as well that honestly I find this to be the HARDEST thing about a mod, making sure the text and story are consistent, clear, and unique. I found it out while modding as well that the TEXT has been the single most edited thing because of errors, wrong title, misspellings, punctuation, awkward sentences, corny lines, goofy replacements made due to officer name changes, etc. I at one point had every instance of "Liu Bei" replaced with "Gongsun Yue", totally screwed up everything!
Nice placement of yuan shu's castle, took me a while to figure out where I was XD I'm planning on my next MOD to learn how to do map/warp changes. I am assuming it is very similiar to moving battles though.
One last question, are they supposed to have red faces? Not that there is anything wrong with it :bon:
Would have to say I underestimated your mod. I ran out of food and money and couldnt beat the first castle lol
