I wanted to have a few "surprise" battles so that battles wouldn't be so progressive in difficulty where everyone could anticipate the difficulty. Plus since ZGL battle gives you the smartest guy in the game, I made it tough and something a player may have to revisit later. Dong Zhuo is easy if you stay near water and use ji mian :)
Did you say they have 60,000 troops? O_o
That wasn't like that in the one I made haha, maybe a bug I will have to check…

ModeratorI havent managed to get any borkenness from editing text since you updated the last time. I think it has to do with something now when DOAEditor opens, will be sure to test out the new version FLEXX

ModeratorIve started moving towns around as well… it does take some time to draw the castle, go there in game, pull up the hex, put the hex into an editor, and test to see if you input something wrong….
BUT
customizing battle lines helps make the game flow together and makes writing a more complex story mod much easier since I don't have to work with the stock battle lines and messing around with each hex value to get them to say what I want.

ModeratorMy only beef with the warriors not being able to use tactics, is that they nearly become obsolete compared to the High Int characters who can also fight, use tactics, and heal. The only way to balance this out better would be to make high INT characters have extremely LOW str, less than 100, and extremely LOW agility so they are relegated to using exclusively tactics while HIGH str + HIGH agi chars make up for lack of healing and multi-targeting over damage output.

ModeratorForget warps! It is much more pertinent to make battle taunts and closers selectable from a drop down menu allowing you to pick any line from the text banks!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still having the game borking error…GBE's :cactuar:
I think it has to do with something that happens when DOAEditor opens… because once I bork the rom, I try opening a fresh one without closing DOAEditor… it then borks the next new rom. So essentially, to stop this, I have to close doaeditor and then reopen it. Once I find it is not borking the rom, I leave DOAEditor open and consider it a "safe" opening of the program.
I checked to see between a borked and non-borked rom, and it is not extending/reducing the hex or anything… Don't know why sometimes it works and sometimes doesn't…

ModeratorIn Nobunagas Ambition Lord of Darkness for SNES, it was impossible to take down someone like Shingen or Kenshin with 1:1 amounts of troops. You would either have to sacrifices 3x-4x as many troops or rifle them to death since their WAR stats were so obscene. You could essentially solo the whole country if yoy played as them.

Or maybe we're soaking up too much bandwidth that he's working an extra shift to pay the server cost X_x

Ludmeisters 2.0 Remix Mod
Best Story line/Text Modifications: I'd almost say the between the Yuan Shu mod and the Wei mod, but I'm picky on a good story, probably the #1 thing I look for in a mod. I still think these need to be improved*
Best Map Modifications: Yuan Shu mod took me a while to figure out where I was at the start. It gave me some inspiration though for my upcoming mod.
Best Battle System / Tactic Modifications: DOAE 2.0 as renaming the tactics really brought the game up to par as well as the tweaking of officer stats to make use of warriors/tacticians. Based my Rise of Lu Bu mod on this as a base.
Best Difficulty Modifications: I think everyone needs more practice at this one, can't really elect any particular mod.Best Graphical Changes: Yuan Shao mod was the first one I played that used new portraits,sprites outside of DOAE. While not necessarily my favorite choice of open mouthed individuals, it was the first to use these + new colors which other mods are using like the Yuan Shu and Rise of Lu Bu Mod.
Best ROM Enhancement: DOAEditor, and the ability to change all sorts of officer attributes at text at whim… at least when it doesn't error out your whole mod :)
Best Comedy in a Mod: Yuan Shao mod, the moment Cao Cao slaps Cao Hong :cactuar:
Best NEW Gameplay Modification: Agility Attacks/8 Tactics by MidKnighT and Ludmeister.
ROM of the Year: No verdict yet, everyone is still making changes that could shift my position.
