ModeratorQuote:If you want insane difficult, Cao Cao edition mod.I don't even know if I would call it insanely difficult, more like impossible unless you're savestate hacking and using AnSha on everyone.

ModeratorFixed.
The bigger issue now is why did DOAEditor not work right….

ModeratorGot it! So A8 A9 AA AC AD BC D5 are editable at 39580 and it seems that in DOAEditor that even though the Unbilletable option is clicked, it is not in this list in my rom! Hmm, let me see if I can add it manually and fix this little problem… Stay tuned.

ModeratorNiahak, can you point me towards the address where the billeting information is stored?

ModeratorQuote:A lower troop count might work. Many of my party decisions were based on troop size to a point (Huang Zhong got dumped in favor of Wei Yan eventually). Zhang Liao is one of the 3 Zhangs though… so who knows…. Maybe you can have him leave when Guan Yu and Zhang Fei left in the original (That would just be mean though) hehe… I'm a Zhang Liao fan so I don't mind him sticking around. The problem is lowering it enough where he's not useless because he is kind of a master of fighting and tactics and if I lower his troop count it will seriously hamper his damage output
Quote:Yup… LB. He was an awesome addition. Stats weren't broken, but he was a jack of all trades that had some cool tactics. His quote could be interpreted as Lu Bu causing people or as causing pain. I know what you mean though, and it is a shoe peddling country bumpkin that's saying it…. LOL!Heh, you'd like my Flames of Wu Mod then :P
Quote:That Grotto was a MEAN SOB!That's a bonus battle taken from my DOAE mod Rise of Ieyasu. In that mod you can use Rifle/Wind Tactics instead of Fire/Lightning, but I still thought the lightning was a nice touch in comparison with the Water.

ModeratorQuote:The invasion makes total sense now! Wei is in shambles which allows us to tackle the immediate threat of Wu.During this chapter I was able to outfit my entire party with steeds (timing seems about right for that).
Yeah, I felt this was a good time to have players at least get a chance to fight Cao Cao himself as I felt fighting him sooner would just be too tough and getting a full party worth of steeds just made the game too easy.
Quote:Really cool dealings with the Wu cave! It’s totally optional to do at that point so you can take out Zhang Zhao first (or do the cave first to make Zhang Zhao easier). I like the flexibility and the time it saves traveling from point A to point B.That was something I made when map editing first came out. I was just annoyed with the long trips back and forth and it was before TP regeneration which has been an awesome addition to the game and makes it a LOT more RPG'ish rather than winning by attrition. It's the whole reason I decided to upgrade ROLB to version 3.0. Kudo's to MiDKnighT on that one. The Wu Maze was the same thing, everyone knew their way through without any challenge, so, surprise :D
Quote:I recruited Zhang Zhao in a random encounter. If I didn’t have DD he would have made the team. At this point (Lu Bu, Zhang Liao, Guan Yu, DD, Yang Hu).Hmm, I didn't think he was recruitable, but meh, as long as it's not gamebreaking >_>
EDIT: Why by golly I did leave him recruitable, but his troop count should be pretty low.

ModeratorNo issues in the 8/25/2012 version or ROLB or anything before that. Let me check the Rise of Ieyasu files…

ModeratorI do like the bug prioritizing list as it helps to put things all in one spot. There seems to be a number of issues that have crept up over time with the new code and such. I think I remember Niahak working that expanded billeting functionality but I don't know what address that was even pointing to or whether or not it was an array.
Anyways, yeah, I would agree that above all of those issues, fixing that last office freeze bug is priority, and for some reason I'm thinking it was introduced around the time of the dueling tactic when issues were being had with going all-out. Maybe I could look back in my previous versions of ROLB from two years ago and see if I can trace when the bug first started occurring.

ModeratorQuote:I did encounter 1 glitch. I wound up after buying/selling equipment (In Cheng Du) with 400ish/800ish TP. I loaded a savestate and this did not reoccur.I have had this happen sometimes too. It is random and we have no idea what causes it.
Quote:Yeah… Zhang Liao was the general I never contemplated removing. I almost took Lu Bu out of the battle formation (with a 7 man party) at the end, but I figured that would just be wrong (and he would kill me for trying LOL).In that case, maybe I should lower his troop count?
Quote:“If I go with you, perhaps I can end the pain of the people that you cause.”It might be a little clearer if it was something like, “If I go with you, perhaps I can end the pain that you cause the people.”
You mean LB? He was a recent addition in version 3.0. I could make that change if it makes more sense
Quote:Cheng Du was INSANE!!!! The head strategist murdered me with Barrage…Yeah, take him out FAST or else…

ModeratorBANHAMMER! They should be showing up now. Fixed
.Dragon Warrior 2, although I've never played it, seems a lot like Earthbound, especially the battle system.

ModeratorQuote:First thing I noticed is that regular soldiers pack a punch (a good thing I think). Our conqueror of worlds was defeated with Terror (or rather his poor innocent pet LOL).Yeah, I wanted a progression of generic force impact because I know in the original, they never even did any damage, but some mods you were getting wiped out by rebel forces so I shot for the middle.
Quote:Chang Sha – Elite Bowmen in this chapter can be BRUTAL. Terror and Blast are made for them (I was actually happy to see Han Xuan take up one of their slots). I was worried about Huang Zhong being overpowered, but great job fixing his troops (made him good for the rest of the chapter but little else. I think it helps the game to be switching generals in and out throughout). Wei Yan was sent back due to low INT (He played a factor later though).I felt Huang Zhong was just too overpowerd and would never get replaced so I limited his troop on purpose.
Quote:Zhang Liao (This guy is an all-star and stayed with me throughout the WHOLE game)Yeah, I just hope he wasn't too overpowered.
Quote:The Ma brothers are cool, but I wish they had more troops so they would be usable in the Shu campaign (I was level 29 and had a bunch more troops). I Went with Lu Bu, Wei Yan, Zhang Liao, Ji Ling and Yang Hu (Huang Zhong served his purpose). I did not encounter any new bugs in this section. It's always been hard to make these guys useful since you get so many guys around Jing Zhou.

ModeratorIt's the bots that are annoying >_>

ModeratorQuote:Whose mod should I go after next? Wahahahahahaha!Well, I could just plug my own, Rise of Ieyasu or Flames of Wu. Granted, there are some other good ones out there like the Yuan Shao's Revenge or I'd almost go to say the Yuan Shu mod but I feel that it needs a lot of "cleaning up" in a number of ways, but it's still alright.
If you feel like waiting a year or so, Jin Xuan Conqueror of Worlds is coming out!

ModeratorOn ROLB thread, again. MiDKnighT, you're gonna have to teach me you Kung-Fu on how you combat these invisible posts.
