So I got OW2 a couple days ago. I’m still reltively new (although I do have DyW4 and DyW5 from a while back…), but I’ve played enough to realize that Orochi must have laid off the rest of the four horsemen offscreen. With his scythe.
And, to be fair, the Sun clan didn’t really get a base until Sun Ce.
You may want both (1) have Sun Jian rejoin BUT (2) give him a fixed soldier amount. That way he’ll stay active past the yellow turbans, yet gradually get phased out due to a lack of troops.

Cheng Pu really shouldn’t be a 204-troops-forever guy. Keep in mind that he was still alive and kicking when Zhou Yu died — there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having him be one of the starting three and stay with the party until where guan yu and zhang fei left in the standard game…

Ma Dai’s certainly a very good officer — if nothing else, he outsurvived most of his colleagues. For some reason, however, it seems he didn’t advance in rank much; on kongming’;s site, the ranks pagedoesn’t include Ma Dai even once. On a side note, if Ma Chao died during the struggle with Han Sui, it’s entirely possible that Ma Dai would have gone as far as Ma Chao did (or further!)
Fun fact: Although they always portray Zhao Yun as a young guy and Huang Zhong as an old guy, IIRC Huang Zhong’s only about eight or so years older than Zhao Yun.

Hah! I made the same error after testing my mod! (althoguh Jin Xuan started with "only" 20,020 troops…)
In the mean time, I’m working on the [Lord] Yuan Shu section. Due to complaints abotu a lack of changes, the area was revamped — instead of a total lack of juggling, we now have changes to ALL of the 0 battles — including a detail that many people don’t realize….
Also my backup computer is using the "picture slideshow" screen saver, set to my hentai collection. Mwahahahaha~
