************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Moderatorto be a tactician, their INT must be higher than STR plus the minimum intelligence (that is set in the hex tables) must be met.

Moderatornevermind, found out how… just had to freeze the emu immediately upon entering the warp. I have the same issue as you its because of changing the 1st value after the 4 warp values which makes you come out like that.

Moderatori still am having issues locating portals inside of caves. LYS, help me out on this one. How can I make the warp inside of a cave exit where I want to on the world map?
Caves always end at 0F or 00 and I can't seem to find the warp data…

Moderatoractually, one reason I added the crazy battle w/ Tugu was because I always hated that part of the game. it was just gophering every time I played the game only to lose your weapons you had to get the ore for.
It just broke up the monotony a bit. and the 244 Defense I thought was a good joke on players, almost as good as the 5000 hp 255 def ones later on lolz, granted a few Inferno nukes takes down Tugu pretty fast, but I felt like it more or less was a reference to the famous Nanman Armor that repelled swords and arrows but was easily… flammable… MWAHAHAHA!~ :unibrow:

ModeratorQuote:But I know the feeling; I have my own side projects (such as Fraxy), so the Jin Xuan mod isn't getting the love and attention it should.Is it ever? :cactuar:
Quote:Hey ya hosers,Just wanted to let you all know that I haven't fallen off the edge of the earth (though I have lived in Houghton, Michigan… if any of you have gone to college at Michigan Tech you understand what I mean :unibrow:). I haven't been real active in DoaE pursuits at present but I am still lurking here and interested in your exploits. I'm also interested in any other feedback that people want to share about the mod. Hit me, I can take it :wink:
at first i thought you said hoosiers from indiana? Anyways, I digress. Although many of the gameplay tweaks were nice, I felt it needed more of a personal touch to it ie: changes to story/unexpected surprises in some manner other than ai difficulty.

ModeratorQuote:Rise of Lu Bu is a close second but I have a hard time putting a face to a character when each portrait consists of various layers of different portraits (many looks like druggies or aliensLOL! Too funny XD Some of my personal favorites were Deng Ai, Fa Zheng, Shamoke, Zhou Cang and Ji Ling.

ModeratorNot just that, my modding experience was as well. After playing through other peoples mods it sort of evolved.
I've been trying to incorporate everything a bit from the DOAE hacking guide into the ROI mod except for perhaps individual officer tactics which Im wavering about utilizing due to making tactic users overpowered.
This mod I think turned out better than I originally hoped with gameplay, difficulty, and story. Im glad you got a chance to run through it again with feedback :cactuar:

ModeratorQuote:Problem is, what use is beating that battle after you conquer Shu, outside of EXP? I generally don't just walk around the world map for the hell of it, which is also why I didn't get Fa Zheng and Pang Tong since I went on to the next area (I assume you're alluding to those two).I actually used pang tong/fa zheng all the way through 90% 0f Wu, theyre actually very useful and make wu much easier despite low soldier counts.
Im glad it was hard and, this being my FIRST doae mod when hacking was still pretty primitave with only basic edits allowable. I probably wont go back to add a lot more to it simply because I have moved on to making a better mod in the RISE of IEYASU mod which incorporates a lot of stuff this mod needed. It would take a LOT of time rebalancing if I added the new updates on this one…
Sorry about the goofy portraits, I didnt know how to use feidian until this mod was essentially completed, but I felt some still worked/fit. DIng Yuan I felt was hilarous :D

ModeratorIm trying to figure out what to do with the Wu area as it would technically be off the map of Japan out in the ocean… If I can figure out how to make cave exits work correctly and spit people out in the place I want, I think I might make it its own separate sort of zone…

ModeratorQuote:well i thought wu tugu battle was easy just take out wu tugu last, don't know why but when lu bu is in front enemy tactics work less oftenMaybe you just got lucky hehe. He definitely has the troops to withstand more than the others, but maybe its just his new portrait endowed self which makes him that much more beefy :P FLEXX

ModeratorI've thought about adding in the portuguese at some point… but that is sort of an "addition" at this point before the main plot gets really set in stone.
eh dont worry, I'll be watching.

ModeratorQuote:Actually, I just realized that the Mislead strategy is awful now. With the stupid Ambush spell, there is no way to have Recover (Yin Xian) and Mislead. Salve / Tong Xian is just too weak to be able to survive in these tough battles.Actually, your first playthrough was the one that made me nerf the effectiveness of the mislead/savestate skill :P AnSha makes playing a game worthless I felt, so it is introduced rather late.
Quote:all-Zeal needs to be at least 30, maybe 35. Just way too over-powered to be 10 that's for sure.I thought about that, but Jie Ce gets used much more as the game progresses.
Quote:Plus, I just realized a cheap over-powered strategy that has got me through the Wu cave with ease. Needed to go and get Zhuge Liang and put him in battle with Lu Bu, Guan Xing, Zhao Yun and Shamoke. Lu Bu uses Thwart, Guan Xing uses Zeal and then Inferno with Zhuge Liang just dominates. Tough strategy for the AI to deal with but I can't win any other way, An Sha has been replaced with a shitty tactic in Ambush and while Mislead is great the tactics that accompany it are godawful.Overpowered? well if you want to use all your TP I guess… Anyways, Ambush is not a replacement for AnSha, AnSha is just unavailable for you until much later.
I wanted to make Lu Bu much "meaner" than he was in the original game. It makes for a funnier story :huohu: .
Quote:Can't beat Wu Tugu and the damn Scarve Wizards. I would definitely tone down the AP / AC disparities in the Shu area. The damn Nanman's take off 1500-2000 each time and I'm taking off 200 or 350 with a Battleaxe.This is a VERY easy battle with the right strategy, although I think unfy had trouble too. Even though some officers have LOW soldier counts, their other high stats more than make up for it. There are 2 officers you can acquire @ the end of Shu which make the Wu Tugu battle a cinche, almost laughably easy.
I was up in the air about making the shortcut to Wu, but felt it rather cruel with the bridge ambush to make players go ALL the way back just to rest @ the inn. Is the shortcut too much?
